On September 28, 2022, RMCHCS Board Members held their monthly board meeting. The comments and question are listed below along with the answers listed accordingly.

Connie Liu

Connie reported receiving questions from community members who sought clarity and action from the Board:

  • One individual requested basic financial information.
  • Another suggested an independent review of operations.
  • The community collectively recommended increased transparency.

Connie requested a formal response from the Board to address these concerns.

Larry Winn

Larry emphasized the importance of developing a systematic planning process to define the scope of RMCHCS operations moving forward. He noted the following:

  • RMCHCS was highly regarded as a prized institution 40 years ago.
  • Encouraged the Board to build greater trust with the community, highlighting that a degree of negativity has recently been exchanged.
  • Suggested the hospital take proactive steps to overcome barriers and difficulties in its relationship with the community.
  • Stressed the community’s collective interest in quality and sustainable healthcare.

Larry urged the Board to actively engage with the community in planning for the future, fostering collaboration and trust.
